Third Yoga and Nutrition Workshop: oestrogen and other sex hormones
Date 21st March 2018
Location St Emmanuel’s Church NW6
Price: £55 (early bird until 10th January, then £65)
In the last of our workshop in this series, we will focus on female sex hormones including oestrogen, progesterone, FHS, LH and prolactin which together regulate our cycles and support fertility and sex function.
Nutrition underpins the equilibrium among these hormones and in case of, for example, oestrogen dominance that can lead to PMS or high testosterone levels as in PCOS, diet can provide your body with the nutrients it needs to naturally find its balance again.
At this workshop we will explain the interaction between oestrogen and progesterone and other hormones such as insulin and thyroid to highlight the importance of blood sugar balance and a healthy thyroid.
We will cover how nutrition can help those suffering from PCOS, endometriosis, menstrual issues, PMS, fibroids, fertility, miscarriage, peri- and menopause.
These hormone imbalances affect how you look, sleep and feel. During the periods of hormonal changes Yoga can help your body rebalance the amount of female hormones that it secretes by flooding the glands with more oxygen, soothing the nervous system, mitigating symptoms and discomforts and boosting your energy and your libido. Yoga postures, pranayama and meditation can make a world of difference for women entering a new stage in her life.
Our workshops start with a deliciously healthy snack and Nutrition Talk by Pilar Manzanaro, our registered nutritional therapist. The talk will be followed by a yoga session with Paula Lopez De Mollein, our experienced Yoga teacher. To finish our session off we’ll cook a light dinner for you including recipes and ingredients to address hormonal imbalances, support sugar balance and boost your energy with Paula Quest, our nutritional chef.
We will follow up with fortnyightly Nutrition and Yoga emails including practice videos to keep you going until our next session!
