Baking is one the greatest pleasures in life but we all worry about the sugar and fat content of those delicious bakes. The PurpleCarrot team loves a good baking session so we have given cakes, muffins and breads a heathy makeover so you can enjoy them guilt-free. How? Reducing refined sugars, adding fruit and veg, switching to gluten free and whole-meal flours but without sacrificing the taste one little bit!
This workshop will start with a talk by Pilar on how to make simple changes to make your baking healthier, we’ll introduce ingredients that can add fibre, protein and nutrients to your favourite chocolate muffins. As always, we’ll share our baking hacks with you. Pilar will introduce the workshops while you enjoy a lovely home-made breakfast including our famous muesli and Pilar’s fresh bread…plus some freshly baked goodies!
Breakfast will be followed by a hands-on baking session lead by Paula, our nutritional chef. We will all bake sweet treats and savoury snacks as well as sharing plenty of tricks to improve your home baking.
This is a hands-on workshop so you will have the opportunity to get involved in the baking and, of course, have a taste of the finished dishes and take some goodies home for the family to taste. Recipe cards will be provided and a handout with our presentation will be ready for you to take home.
Pilar will be available throughout the session to answer health and nutrition questions and Paula will be at hand to share her cooking knowledge.
