We had our first PurpleCarrot Cooking and Nutrition Workshop yesterday at Aubaine Hampstead and it was a huge success!
So, while the kids had a snack, we talked about what foods to include in a perfectly balanced meal (Perfect Fuel Plate ©). I was very impressed with how much the kids already knew – well done mums!
Then, we moved straight onto cooking. We scrubbed potatoes, chopped herbs, snapped asparagus ends, podded fresh peas, seared the chicken and while it simmered gently, the kids made a dessert packed with antioxidants from redder than red raspberries and calcium and probiotics from organic yogurt and mascarpone.
We all had loads of fun and the kids enjoyed a delicious dinner (lots of second helpings!) with their new friends . The more adventurous even tried the asparagus and dabbed a little roasted garlic on their potatoes!
