USES:Phosphorous is an important mineral, together with calcium, for bone and teeth structure as well as growth since it forms part of DNA and RNA.
FOOD SOURCES:
Phosphorous is mainly found in meat products as well as poultry, dairy and fish. Highly processed food (cola drinks, fast food) contains much higher levels of phosphorous than fresh food so diets high in both animal products and processed foods may lead to a phosphorous/calcium imbalance which could have a negative impact on bone health.
