Menu planning

Our menu planning consultation will take the hassle out of planning your weekly meals and will provide you with a completely customised 3-week menu planner, including recipes and ingredients you would have checked and approved.

We listen to your likes and dislikes and take note of which days you can cook from scratch and which days you need to have dinner on the table in 20 minutes flat.  We can even help you plan packed lunches or factor school dinners into your kids’ weekly menu.

We make sure our recipes are suitable for the whole family including babies, with as little extra work as possible, and that each and every one of your meals is perfectly balanced and, as a whole, your food-week provides you with all the nutrients you need.

We are very happy to adapt menus for food allergies and intolerances and have a growing library of exciting recipes excluding the most common allergens.

After you tell us about your likes and dislikes, food exclusions and schedules, we prepare a draft menu and email it to you. You then get back to us with which recipes or ideas you would like to change and we do that for you, still ensuring your meals and weeks are balanced.

Many of the recipes we use are PurpleCarrot’s creations but we also use and adapt recipes from chefs such as Jamie Oliver, Bill Granger, Donna Hay, Diana Henry and more. We always try and test recipes several times, until we are 100% happy with the results. But we understand we all like different things so we are more than happy to make changes to your menu after you have tried all the recipes.

All our menus are seasonal and delivered on a three-week rolling basis.  Pilar is a big fan of transforming left-overs into new, and time-saving, dishes so you can cook on Monday night and have some fancy leftovers for a quick supper on Wednesday after swimming.

Many of our meals are freezer-friendly so once you’ve been using our menus for a couple of weeks, you can start building a stock of home-cooked meals for those days when cooking is simply not an option.

We like eating seasonally and we encourage our clients to do the same so we offer a discounted rate for those updating their menu planner 2/3 times a year.
